The most common mattress sizes in the UAE are Single (90x190 or 90x200 cm), Queen (160x200 cm), King (180x200 cm) and Super King (200x200 cm). But size names are not standard across stores: a "Queen" can be 150 or 160 cm wide depending on where you shop. This guide gives every common size in centimetres, explains the naming differences, and shows how to choose the right size for your room.

Why size names differ between UAE stores

The UAE sells mattresses made to European, British, American and local standards, and each uses its own names. Here is how the same names compare across stores we checked on 15 October 2026:

Each size explained

Single: 90x190 or 90x200 cm

The standard size for one sleeper. Choose 200 cm long for anyone taller than about 180 cm. Singles are the usual choice for children's rooms, bunk beds and staff accommodation.

Small Double: 120x200 cm

A wider single that gives one adult room to turn over. It suits teenagers, guest rooms and studio flats, and fits rooms where a Queen won't.

Queen: 160x200 cm

A popular size for couples in UAE apartments. Each person gets 80 cm of width, and it fits a standard master bedroom of about 3 x 3.5 m.

King: 180x200 cm

Twenty centimetres wider than a Queen, so each person gets 90 cm. A good choice for couples who sleep badly when disturbed, or who share the bed with a small child.

Super King: 200x200 cm

A square bed with 100 cm per person. Popular in villas and large master bedrooms, but check that it will fit through your doors and lift before you order.

What size fits your bedroom?

Leave at least 60 to 70 cm of walking space on each side of the bed you use, and at the foot if you walk past it. As a guide:

How to measure before you buy

1. Measure the inside of the bed frame, from one inner edge to the other, across and along. This is your mattress size.
2. Check the depth. A deep mattress in a frame with high sides can sit too low; a thin one can look lost.
3. Measure the route into the room. Check the doorway, the lift and any tight corners, especially for a King or Super King.
4. Write the size in centimetres, not the name, and give it to the store when you order.
